Concept
HBL has no standalone "Private Banking" brand: affluent and HNW clients are served under HBL Prestige, the top of the ladder Mass → Preferred → Premium (mid-tier HNW, launched 2025) → Prestige. It is a lounge-based priority-banking proposition inside Retail Banking (Head of Retail Banking: Muhammad Aalishaan Zaidi), with dedicated portfolio managers, a Prestige lounge network and priority access to the group's investment products.
HBL is Pakistan's largest private-sector bank by franchise: total assets Rs 7.7 trillion (+27% in FY2025), deposits Rs 5.5tn (12.65% market share), around 40m customers, 1,740 branches. Group President & CEO: Muhammad Nassir Salim (since March 2024); Chairman: Sultan Ali Allana (since February 2004). The controlling shareholder is the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED, Geneva) with 56.58% (Dec 2025); the remainder floats on the PSX.

Strengths
The scale and capital of the country's largest private-sector banking franchise: profit before tax Rs 148.1bn (+23%), net profit Rs 66.8bn (+16%) in FY2025. Anchor shareholder AKFED (56.58%) gives strategic stability. A ranking nuance: 2025–26 league tables put UBL ahead by assets after its Silkbank merger, while HBL remains the largest private-sector bank by franchise. The unique Roshan Digital Account diaspora channel; an extensive lounge network; a full product line from deposits to funds and bancassurance.
Where it falls short
Prestige-specific AUM and client numbers are undisclosed, so segment depth cannot be verified publicly. No publicly advertised DPM, estate planning or family office. Thresholds and lounge infrastructure are oriented to Pakistan and its diaspora; deposits at overseas branches fall outside DPC cover.
In sum: HBL Prestige is priority banking at the top of Pakistan's leading private-sector franchise, with a strong diaspora channel, but without a formally advertised classic private-banking offer.
