## Concept

BCA Solitaire is the top tier of premium banking at PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (IDX: BBCA), Indonesia's most profitable bank. There is no unit branded "BCA Private Banking": the affluent/HNW ladder runs from BCA Prioritas (since 1996) up to BCA Solitaire, where a personal banker is assigned. Both tiers are invitation-only.

## History and evolution

- **10 August 1955** — Liem Sioe Liong (Sudono Salim) founds Bank Central Asia.
- **28–29 May 1998** — a bank run during the Asian crisis leads to a state takeover by IBRA/BPPN (the government stake reaches 92.8% by 1999).
- **31 May 2000** — IPO on the Jakarta exchange.
- **March–April 2002** — the FarIndo consortium (Farallon Capital plus the Hartono family's Alaerka) wins 51% for Rp 5.3 trillion.
- **2004–2005** — the government fully exits.
- **2017** — control is consolidated under PT Dwimuria Investama Andalan (54.94%).
- **2019** — the Welma wealth app launches (integrated into myBCA in 2022).
- **1 June 2025** — Hendra Lembong becomes President Director; Jahja Setiaatmadja (PD 2011–2025) moves up to President Commissioner.
> 🍓 Deposits at BCA are protected by LPS: up to IDR 2 billion per depositor per bank, subject to the "3T" conditions; the guarantee rate is 3.75% for rupiah and 2.00% for FX (October 2026 – January 2027 window), according to official LPS data.

## Regulation

PT Bank Central Asia Tbk is listed on the IDX (BBCA), supervised by OJK and Bank Indonesia, and a member of the LPS deposit insurance scheme. Audited FY2025 results: net profit of Rp 57.5 trillion (+4.9%), making BCA Indonesia's most profitable bank, edging past BRI. Total assets are Rp 1,586.8 trillion (#3 by assets, #1 by market capitalisation), ROE 23.3%, roughly 34 million customers.

Ownership: PT Dwimuria Investama Andalan holds 54.94%; the ultimate owners are Robert Budi Hartono and Bambang Hartono (the Djarum family); about 45% is in public float.

Compliance context: on 13 October 2023, OJK fined BCA Rp 100 million as custodian bank in the PT Berlian Aset Manajemen mutual-fund case (the manager was fined Rp 525 million and ordered to liquidate its funds), according to official information. In June 2026, a fictitious-deposit fraud in Malang (Rp 987 million) was settled via mediation, according to published reports. No other major sanctions were identified in the sources reviewed.

## Source of wealth

The client base is built on entrepreneurs and SME owners, conglomerate families and senior professionals; the Chinese-Indonesian business community is historically significant. The bank routinely asks for proof of [source of funds](https://wiki.private.law/source-of-funds) under KYC/AML procedures.

> 💡 Official thresholds (rules effective 10 November 2025): Prioritas — 3-month average AUM of at least IDR 1 billion with CASA of at least IDR 250 million (or CASA of at least IDR 500 million); from January 2026, a monthly fee of IDR 1 million applies if unmet. Solitaire — 3-month average of at least IDR 5 billion with CASA of at least IDR 500 million (fee IDR 2.5 million per month below the threshold).

## Who it serves

Invitations go to clients meeting the tiers: Prioritas from IDR 1 billion, Solitaire from IDR 5 billion in combined balances. Reportedly, Solitaire and Prioritas together served over 200,000 customers as of July 2025; segment AUM is growing about 10% year on year; absolute private-banking AUM is not disclosed.

## Services

- RM/personal-banker advisory;
- government bonds (the bank claims a top primary-market share);
- third-party mutual funds (BCA is an OJK-licensed selling agent, APERD, plus custodian — the group has no in-house asset manager);
- bancassurance (AIA, BCA Life);
- preferential mortgages;
- estate and succession consultations via Wealth Summit events.
There is no bank-run DPM — Indonesian rules place discretion with licensed investment managers; lombard lending is not publicly marketed. Islamic banking runs through Bank BCA Syariah.

## Entities

| Indonesia | BCA Sekuritas (90%) | Broker; OJK | Brokerage services |
| Indonesia | Bank BCA Syariah (100%) | Islamic bank; OJK | Sharia products |

## Strengths

The country's most profitable bank with 23.3% ROE; scale (~34 million customers) and the #1 market capitalisation; a strong position in primary government-bond distribution; a personal banker at the Solitaire tier; the Welma/myBCA digital platform.

## Where it falls short

Those who need an in-house asset manager, bank-run DPM, lombard lending or a developed international network will not find them here: outside Indonesia only a liaison-only representative office in Singapore remains. Undisclosed segment AUM makes comparison with global private banks difficult.

BCA Solitaire is the top of the bank's internal pyramid: an Indonesian HNW client gets a personal banker and a full retail-investment suite, but no discretionary management or offshore infrastructure.
